Tech Tips: Creating Easy Access to Final Draft

After you install Final Draft, it’s easy to set up your computer so that you can open the program quickly.

If you have a Mac and you want quick access to Final Draft, open your Applications folder (which you can do from the Dock or from the Go menu at the top of a Finder window) and drag the Final Draft icon to the Dock.  It will live there as an alias and all you have to do is click it once to launch Final Draft.

On a Windows computer, just open your Start menu, locate Final Draft, right-click it and select Pin to Start.  A Final Draft tile will be created in your Start menu.

Another route is to open your Start menu, locate Final Draft and with the right mouse button, drag it to your Desktop. This will place a shortcut right on your Desktop so you don’t even have to open the Start menu.

Finally, your Final Draft files themselves will open the application.  If you save your script or scripts directly to your Desktop, double-clicking its icon is the fastest way to open that particular Final Draft document.
