Final Draft & NYFA team for Big Break Pitch Event

Written by Final Draft | December 3, 2015

After 11 weeks of hard work, rewrites, table reads, and intensive classes on the craft and business of writing for film and television, the Final Draft Big Break winners are near the end of their Fellowship at the New York Film Academy. The Fellows - 4 television writers and 6 feature writers - honed their scripts which had already won top honors in the 2014 Big Break Screenwriting Contest and developed several new, marketable ideas. They were ready to test their pitching and writing abilities in the real world, so NYFA and Final Draft gave them an opportunity to do so with representatives from some of the biggest companies working with writers today.

On Tuesday May 12th the Fellows and a few select NYFA Masters Alumni gathered on the NYFA Burbank campus to pitch representatives from companies such as Paradigm, UTA, MTA, Gersch, The Radmin Company and APA.

The classes on preparing to pitch gave the Fellows confidence in their material, and they impressed these execs with their ideas and delivery. Many scripts were requested and several important relationships were established.

Final Draft and NYFA congratulate our hard-working Fellows and we look forward to the success we are sure awaits them as they complete their last week of the program.
