Washington, D.C., August 4-8, 2015

Final Draft, Inc. attended and hosted a workshop at the 2015 University Film and Video Association (UFVA) conference at American University. This year's conference theme was MEDIA WITH IMPACT.

Alejandro Seri, Director of Education at Final Draft, attended the conference and was on hand at the Final Draft booth to answer questions from media educators. He also had the opportunity to present his workshop "Best Practices for Teaching Screenwriting with Final Draft." This workshop introduced many educators to new ways to use the Final Draft outlining tools in the classroom.

The campus was buzzing with excitement on the conference’s opening day as none other than President Obama was on hand to speak. Alejandro met with many of the nation’s top film school chairs and professors throughout the week, discussing among other things the new Final Draft 9 EDU Trial program. Educators are very enthusiastic about this program because it allows students to try their hand at screenwriting using the industry standard free of charge for one semester.

Alejandro also attended the UFVA picnic at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The UFVA picnic is never a disappointment, allowing us to meet with other technology partners and discuss new ways to integrate our software files with other production systems.

Thanks to the UFVA for allowing us to take part in the wonderful event and educational experience this year.
